Fun at the Fair!

We have had alot of fun these last few days. The County fair is going on right now, and of course the kids love to be involved. This year Daisy and Aspen wanted to participate in the Bloomfest pageant. They had alot of fun making up things to introduce themselves and then they did have a best dress catagory also, evey girl loves getting dressed up all pretty. They did a great job. They were so brave to get up in front of all those people and do thier parts. They each won a trophy, which they thought was the coolest part! Caden and Brooklin have been working hard all summer trying to get thier lambs up to wieght. This year they had to reach 107 lbs. Sounds easy- but this year the lambs started out about 10 lbs smaller than last year. The kids made a goal of feeding the lambs at least 3 times a day. Well we had to switch the type of grain we were feeding, but once we did that, the lambs weight took off. They ended up feeding them about 5-6 times a day.

Cadens lamb ended up weighing in at 112 lbs

Brooklins lamb ended up weighing in at 128 lbs. She had the biggest weight gain in the County at a 61 lb gain. She was so excited about that. Today we get to go sell them to the highest bidder. It was fun while it lasted, but Im so excited to see them go! The kids did a great job this year. Im proud of them for sticking to thier project, even though at times it was a big pain.
